Susie Freer has many roles; she is a mother, a grandmother, a singer, an actress, a former Midas Business Woman of the Year and, of course, a writer.  But it was when she lived in the Canary Islands in the 1980’s that she had the good fortune to be adopted by a wild dog. His plight and his eagerness to find a home, changed her outlook on life. 

The dog, Arthur, became the family pet, returning with them to the U.K. and living for a further ten years. As Arthur lay dying in Susie’s arms, she thought about the dramatic events of his past and began to weave the Beach Dog trilogy.
